The free VHPD1394 Development Kit demo enables you to evaluate the IEEE 1394 (also known as FireWire or i.Link™) device driver toolkit and to test all its functions. The content of the demo package and its functionality correspond to those of the full version. However, the demo version is time-limited. The device driver can be used for 2 hours. Then all function calls will be rejected and the computer must be rebooted in order to use the demo again.

Refer to the VHPD1394 Application Design Guide for an introduction to IEEE 1394 transfer modes and for an overview of how to implement a data transfer using the VHPD1394 device driver. The Design Guide is contained in the VHPD1394 Reference Manual, chapter 4. This is included in the demo package.
