Thesycon’s USB CDC/ECM device driver provides a network adapter emulation on Windows CE/Mobile operating systems by implementing the CDC/ECM protocol on USB. The driver works with devices that are compliant to the Communication Device Class (CDC) specification, sub-class Ethernet Control Model (ECM).
The driver runs on USB Host controllers that support the Microsoft USB Host Driver Interface (USBDI).
USB CDC/ECM Class Driver Features
- NDIS Support. Exposes a network adapter interface
- Plug&Play. The driver fully supports plug and play.
- MAC Address. By default, the driver uses the MAC address reported by the device. If the device cannot provide a MAC address, the driver can use a MAC address defined in the registry or generate one from a public pool.
- IP Address. The IP address of the adapter can be assigned via DHCP, Auto-IP, or manually.
- Multiple USB Interfaces. The USB CDC/ECM class driver can be used with devices that implement multiple USB interfaces.
- Multiple Devices. The driver can be used with multiple devices
- USB Support. The driver supports USB 1.1 and USB 2.0

The demo version of the driver stops working after 30 minutes. To reset the demo timer the driver needs to be unloaded and loaded again. This can be done by rebooting the platform or disconnect and reconnect all USB devices were loaded for.

It will not help to solve any problems you may experience with a consumer device such as a webcam, camcorder, card reader, external sound card, etc. Thesycon’s device drivers are software components intended to use by hardware or software manufacturers to create end products.
